Place Your First Practice Trade
A step by step guide to placing your first simulated trade on your free Funded with Flow paper account, from picking a symbol to submitting an order and reviewing your fills.
Your free paper trading account is ready the moment you sign in, so you can place a simulated trade in minutes with no card and no risk to real money.
Start with your free paper account
Every Funded with Flow trader gets a free paper trading account by default. It uses virtual money, has no challenge rules, and never fails or liquidates, which makes it the perfect place to learn. Sign in with your Google account and your paper account is waiting. It also includes a 7 day real time market data trial, so your first trades run on live prices.
If you want the basics first, the Learn page has getting started guides. When you are ready to trade, head to the Trade terminal.
Place a stock or futures trade
The Trade terminal is your main screen. It shows a live chart, the order ticket, your open positions, a watchlist, and your account info. To place your first trade:
- Pick a symbol from your watchlist or search for one. You can trade simulated stocks and futures such as ES, NQ, MES, MNQ, and GC here.
- Open the order ticket and choose an order type. A market order fills right away at the current price, a limit order fills only at your chosen price or better, and a stop order becomes a market order once your trigger price is hit.
- Set your quantity and submit. Your fill appears in open positions with live profit and loss.
- When you want out, open the close dialog. You can also attach Take Profit and Stop Loss brackets there to auto exit at a percent, dollar, or price level you choose.
Try an options trade
To practice multi leg options, open the Options screen. It shows the option chain for a symbol and lets you build strategies like verticals, spreads, and iron condors with a live profit and loss preview before you place them.
Review what you did
After you trade, check Activity for your orders and fills, and open your Dashboard to see how your active account is performing.
Practice as much as you like, because this is exactly what the paper account is for. When you feel ready to trade for a funded payout, you can start a challenge from your Accounts page, and the live plan details are on the Pricing page. If you get stuck, email [email protected].
