The 7 Day Real Time Market Data Trial

How the 7 day real time market data trial on your free paper trading account works and what keeps live data flowing after it ends.

~2 min read Last reviewed: July 13, 2026

When you create your free paper trading account, you get a 7 day real time market data trial included automatically. That means live, real time prices on your charts and order ticket while you practice, with no card required to start.

What the trial includes

Every user gets one free paper trading account by default, and it comes with the 7 day real time market data trial built in. During those days you see the same live prices that funded traders see, so your practice fills, charts, and profit and loss reflect the real market.

The paper account itself is a free virtual practice account. It has no challenge rules and never fails or liquidates, so you can explore the Trade terminal, the Options screen, and the Markets and watchlist at your own pace. Sign in is with Google only, so use the same Google account each time and your accounts stay together.

What happens after the 7 days

When the trial ends, your paper account stays yours and stays free. Real time market data continues only when you have one of the following active:

  • An active paid challenge or evaluation. Real time market data is included on all paid tiers.
  • A standalone Market Data subscription, which keeps live data flowing without an active challenge.

If a chart looks blank or stale, that is often just a temporary data or connection issue rather than the trial ending. Try switching symbols and back, refresh the page, and check the market data status before assuming your trial has lapsed.

How to keep live data

You have two clear paths, and both are quick:

  1. Start a challenge. Pick a plan and begin an evaluation from your Accounts page. Live data is included, and passing puts you on a funded account with a 100 percent profit split. The exact account sizes, targets, and limits vary by plan, so check the live figures on the Pricing page.
  2. Add the standalone Market Data subscription. You can manage this on the Billing page to keep real time data on your paper account without running a challenge.
