Connecting an AI Agent via MCP
How to connect an AI agent to Funded with Flow through MCP with read only or trade execution access, and the safeguards that keep your account protected.
You can connect an AI agent to Funded with Flow through MCP on the Algorithmic Trading page, granting it either read only access or trade execution access to one of your accounts. This lets an outside agent read your account data, and if you allow it, place trades on your behalf.
What MCP access gives your agent
MCP is the connection layer that lets an external AI agent talk to your Funded with Flow account. You choose how much the agent is allowed to do:
- Read only access: the agent can see your account, positions, and market context, but it cannot place or close trades. This is the safest way to start and a good fit when you want analysis or monitoring without giving up control.
- Trade execution access: the agent can place and manage trades on the account you connect it to. Only grant this once you trust the agent and understand what it will do.
You pick the access level when you connect, so start narrow and widen it only if you need to.
How to connect an agent
- Open the Algorithmic Trading page and find the AI and MCP automation section.
- Choose the account you want the agent to work with. You can practice safely on your free paper account before pointing an agent at a paid challenge.
- Select the access level, read only or trade execution, and follow the connection steps shown on the page to link your agent.
- Configure your agent to use the connection, then confirm it can read your account before you allow any trades.
Because contract limits, position limits, and other account rules vary by plan, your agent still has to trade within the rules attached to the account it is bound to. You can review those live figures on the Pricing page or on your Accounts page.
Safeguards and your responsibility
Automation includes safeguards, including auto pause when an account is not tradable, so a connected agent stops acting on an account that has been failed or liquidated. Even so, you are responsible for any agent you connect and every trade it places. Keep it within the Acceptable Use Policy, and turn on the alerts you want on the Alerts settings so you see fills and account events as they happen.
If you run into an account specific issue while connecting an agent, email [email protected] and we will help.
